Fritz Elsas
The industrialist’s son from Bad Cannstatt had a brilliant career as a local politician until 1933. First in Stuttgart, then in Berlin. After Hitler came to power, he was dismissed. Fritz Elsas was involved in the resistance and was one of the leading figures on the civilian side of the Hitler assassination attempt on July 20, 1944. After the attempt failed, he was caught, tortured and shot in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in January 1945.
For many years, we at teamWERK have been producing documentaries that deal with the Third Reich and, above all, its opponents (e.g. „Four Generals Against Hitler“). And because we are based in Bad Cannstatt, we also have a local connection to Fritz Elsas – so it was a matter of course for us to support the project by Volker Lang (producer) and Wilhelm Reschl (co-producer and author) with the entire post-production. Both will be there at the premiere and will also be available to answer questions.
We look forward to seeing you.
